Bought the green Amok as a backup bike to use when my Trek MTB was in the shop or if the trails are muddy. Didnt want to buy an expensive road/gravel bike for just maintaining endurance and this price point was perfect. Its a great bike right out of the gate to ride. It is a simple, easy to use gravel bike thats alot of fun to customize cheaply if you like. I changed the pedals, hand grips, end caps, brake pads to sintered material, and upgraded the tires to WTB 700 c 40 mm Venture Tanwalls (which look so nice). The bike shop I bought from had already added some low end SR Suntour NVX30s spring forks with lockouts which is great for rolling off the paved path onto gravel with a little cushion.
I am so happy with the purchase. The stock components are decent for the price, the shifting is simple, the mechanical brakes are a step up from caliper/rim brakes but not as subtle as hydraulic brakes but thats fine. They are a little too soft with the stock pads in short hard braking but I upgraded the rear pads to sintered which are louder but have more stopping power. The Innova tires are great as well, I just wanted a faster rolling tire and tanwalls to complete the look of the bike. The bike looks really slick, and is alot of fun to ride, even pushing it hard and fast. Rode a 20+ miler and was a blast. Got the top speed to 30 mph on some downhills and was a pleasure to ride.
Very happy with the purchase, if you like to tinker and make little improvements to your bike this is…
