How to measure my inseam for a bike

Your inseam can help you find the perfect sized bike (measuring it properly is similar to pant inseams but measured a little differently). Here's how they work:

  1. Stand upright with your feet 6-8" apart.
  2. Using a tape measure or tailor tape, measure from the bottom of your foot to the top of the inside of your leg.
  3. Compare your inseam measurement to the standover height of the bike. You should have about an inch of space between your body and the top tube.

50CM - S 5'2"-5'5" 31"
54CM - M 5'6"-5'8" 32.5"

It’s a decent bike, but the instruction is very unclear. There was no instruction for mounting the gear shifts, so I just went with my guts. It’s hard to tighten the gear shift into the handle bar using just the equipment Retrospec gives you, so I recommend using a drill to tighten the gear shifts into the handle bar. It’s a beautiful bike, and I will use it mainly to work out around my rural town. Not recommended for city roads.

    Light weight and very cute

I love this bike. It's very light and has a cool retro look to it that makes me happy. I did remove the toe straps fron the pedals and i thinkk eventually I will replace them all together; that's just my personal preference, though. I will also add that even though the sizing does recommend this model for my height (5'1 ") it's still a bit too big for me and i have to slide off the seat when I'm stopped. (Short girl problems...Definitely not a deal breaker.)

    Durable

I’ve had the bike for a year now and have taken it on 30+ mile rides, use it to commute to work, and weekend sprint runs to my favorite coffee shop. At first the chain fell off and the pedal gears weren’t changing well, but after having it tuned at my local shop (synergy bike in Dallas, TX) its been amazing!!!

I would recommend this as a first bike as it isn’t the best in anything but it’ll give you inspiration as to what to get next!

    Great road bike for beginners

Light, easy to ride, the seat is actually pretty comfortable for a standard seat that comes with a bike. This is my first road bike and it is not intimidating at all. I had help putting it together, so grab a friend who knows bikes or take it to a shop to have it done correctly. I’d say the only thing is I would have liked pedals without the straps as an option, but it’s not a negative, just a personal preference.
